Luxury. Gaia attracts 200 million real estate investment

UIP – United Investments Portugal will build a new residential and tourist complex in Vila Nova de Gaia, over Foz do Douro, in an investment of 200 million euros that involved the purchase of Quinta Marques Gomes, announced its general director, Carlos Leal.

“This is one of the group’s most ambitious projects and it reinforces UIP’s solidity and growth, as well as its presence in Portugal and more specifically in the north of the country, in Porto and in Vila Nova de Gaia,” said Carlos Leal. presentation of the new venture in the luxury segment.

The project, with 90,000 square meters of construction set in a 25-hectare farm with extensive green areas over the the Douro river mouth, will feature a world-class boutique hotel, a Serenety SPA’s spa, catering and “a strong residential component”, with units of first and second housing.

The construction works have already started and should be completed within 5 to 7 years, according to UIP, part of the Al-Bahar Investment Group consortium that is present in Portugal through Pine Cliff Resort, Sheraton Cascais, Serenety – the Art of Well Being and Hyatt Regency Lisboa, expected to open in late 2020, while also being a shareholder of Yotel hotel Group, with a project in Porto.
